Depuis jeudi, 130 personnalités du monde des affaires et de la politique sont réunies dans l’hôtel Suvretta House, à Saint-Moritz : des « global leaders » qui ont l’habitude de se retrouver et de s’enfermer, jusqu’au dimanche, pour discuter de l’actualité de la planète.
Ce club très fermé s’appelle le « Bilderberg ». Cultivant le secret des discussions, il fait le bonheur des conspirationnistes de tout poil, prompts à imaginer un gouvernement mondial occulte. Certes, c’est le seul club ou vous risquez de renverser votre café sur David Rockefeller, Bill Gates,ou Henry Kissinger.
Aucune décision n’y est prise : il ne s’agit que de discussions à bâtons rompus entre des gens influents ou puissants, flanqués de quelques experts pour relever le niveau.
Bilderberg veut parvenir à un consensus sur l’évolution du monde
En cela, Bilderberg participe, comme d’autres clubs du même type (où on retrouve d’ailleurs souvent les mêmes gens) à l’élaboration d’un consensus international des élites sur la façon dont le monde évolue – consensus qui ne heurte jamais les intérêts des élites, on s’en doutera.
Restreint et fermé aux regards extérieurs, ce club fait passer Davos pour le camping de Palavas-les-Flots. Il tient son nom de l’hôtel Bilderberg, aux Pays-Bas, où il s’est réuni pour la première fois en 1954. Il se réunit chaque printemps dans une ville différente, invariablement du jeudi soir au dimanche midi.
Le lieu de la rencontre est tenu secret le plus longtemps possible. Les discussions sont franches et rien ne doit filtrer dans la presse ou sur internet : le moindre écart, et l’indiscret est rayé de la liste. C’est cette opacité qui permet aux nombreuses théories du complot de s’épanouir.
